This aerial photo shows the current layout of River Grove. Approximately 11 acres of new land given to KSA last year at the south end of the soccer fields will enable us to build additional fields and consolidate all soccer leagues here.

Improvements:
If adopted, the proposed plan would:
- Add 3 new full-size, multi-use fields
- Add 2 new medium sized fields
- Add 6 new small fields
- Create better facilities for tournaments
Adding lighting to the park will extend hours for play and practice. The extra field space and extra hours will more than offset the loss of soccer fields at North Park and Deer Ridge.
Irrigation should also improve the turf and protect it from increased play.
Other proposed improvements and additions include:
- New restroom/concession stand east of slough
- Updated restrooms west of slough
- New playground area by soccer fields
- Second pedestrian bridge
- Optional vehicular bridge (if affordable)
- 532 new parking spaces
- Separate soccer traffic from boat docks
- Reforestation along slough, parking areas and between fields
- Walkways around parking areas for child safety
- Multiple striping schemes for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, flag football
- Public-use of fields
Unaffected:
- Picnic area
- Boat docks
- Disc golf
- Current playground
See architectural renderings for buildings.
Note:
The addition of parking, a new traffic loop and a pedestrian bridge at the northwest side of the park should minimize additional traffic near the boat docks.
KSA also discovered that many boats now using our docks are not registered to Kingwood residents. Moving to serialized K stickers will make stickers traceable and prevent this. That should help reduce congestion at the docks.
