  Master Plan: North Park

In the master plan, North Park would become the park for softball.

Improvements:
If adopted, the proposed plan would:
- Double softball capacity
- Create two quad-complexes
- Make all fields regulation size

The quad complexes enable fields to share:
- Lights
- Restrooms
- Concession stands
- Walkways

This reduces construction, maintenance and operating costs. Quads also increase convenience for players, coaches and parents, while creating a better environment for tournament play.

If approved, this plan would also:
- Add two play areas not currently in the park
- Add concession stands and restrooms at centers of quads
- Add a jogging track for public use
- Add a maintenance area
- Improve safety by not making kids cross a congested parking lot to use restrooms
- Add warm-up areas
- Bring lighting up to code
- Connect our parking lot with the high school’s

Re: the last point, the City mandates a certain amount of parking for each field. Sharing the high school’s parking will enable us to devote more land to recreation, better equip us for tournaments, improve traffic flow at peak periods, and create better emergency access.
