Traditionally, KSA parks have been funded through assessments levied by member community associations. There are currently 22,000 households and businesses in those associations. At present, each household contributes $36 per year. $25 of that goes toward parks.
A $25 assessment increase per household per year could generate about a half million dollars. A $50 increase could generate more than a million dollars.
However, assessment increases are limited by the by-laws of many associations to increases in the Consumer Price Index. Therefore, KSA looked at a variety of other funding alternatives. The table below shows the amount of funds that we might be able to generate from all sources in good times.
